01. User Research
Stakeholder meetings
End-User field studies
It was identified that a one size fits all solution wouldn’t bring the results that were needed.
Also highlighted, was an existing strategy that was already in place, of live linking events. A solution would need to work in conjunction with this.
02. The Plan
It was identified that a one size fits all solution wouldn’t bring the results that we’re needed. In conjunction with an existing strategy of live linking locations a solution was needing to be developed, where the hardware and software could be scaled up or down with minor effects to the final outcome.
03. Research
Live Demonstrations
Site visits
The core scope of the research was to look for already existing products or work-flows that other people in the industry were using as an initial start point.
Several products were identified with pros’ and cons’ and video calls were initiated with the suppliers to determine product specification and capabilities.
04. The Proposal
The research identified a strong product in the market that could deliver what was required and provided a scalable solution.
As the Equippers group as a whole was diverse in both resource and expertise it was decided to create sectioned groups that could then have a matched scaled solution.
Four categories were established:
Plant
This group service locations that have under 50 people. Streams full service every week via web client on demand.

Build
This group service locations that have between 50-150 people. Streams full service via a decoder. Music Team plays along live, 8-16ch audio is provided to supplement existing team.

Join
This group service locations that have between 150-400 people. Streams part of service via a decoder. Music Team plays along live, from a desired point in the service.

Create
This group service locations that have 400+ people. Streams content of service via an encoder. Location becomes ‘Streaming Hub’ and provides content and technical support for connecting locations.

05. Roll-Out
The proposal was approved December 2018 and a phased roll-out has begun starting April 2019
Accompanied with nationwide training.
